Approved!

Mortgage Approval

Got the word from NVR today... our loan application was APPROVED!

We have a few contingencies, but nothing major.  Just some documentation here and there to support some banking transactions.  Should be easy enough.

I have to tell you, this mortgage application has felt a bit like going to a new doctor for the first time - you have to reveal yourself in a very raw and vulnerable manner that makes you feel naked.  My philosophy on this though has always been... if you have nothing to hide than you have nothing to fear!

Anyways, this news couldn't come on a better day because TODAY is my BIRTHDAY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! (if I do say so myself)

The news on our loan approval was the perfect gift!  Thanks, NVR!  Now, let's hope that you do not suck!  :)

  1. Congrats and happy bday!

Keep on top of NVR. We are supposed to close thurs and they're still asking for stuff. Yesterday it was an explanation letter why I have a PO box. Seriously?

    1. Thanks John. Also, I'm shocked to hear you are so close to closing and they're still asking for stuff. That's gotta be frustrating. They've already asked us for a million sources of documentation, and letters of explanation for every little thing. It's a bit more invasive than I had thought.

  2. We finally got a the "OK to Close" Friday afternoon. They also sent over the HUD-1 Settlement document which turned out to be 1k less then the GFE. Guess I cant complain too much. We're walking through Monday morning and hopefully closing on Thur if the PM can get the CO by then.

  3. Thanks Dustin, Walk-thru went fine. I've been in the house almost daily so there was nothing I didn't already know about. Hoping to have the CO tomorrow or Wed and closing on Thur.

  4. Dustin,

How long did it take under writing to come up with your approval? I am on day 2 checking my email every hour HA! We also had Steve as our starting NVR rep. Moved on with Patty. So far it seems to be going well. We will see.

    1. Hey Joe,

It took about a month for us to completely go through underwriting. Took us a little longer because we had Thanksgiving and nobody was working on our loan that week.

Steve is really good, we asked him a TON of questions (and still are), and he always made time to make sure we understood everything and was also good about meeting up with us for face-to-face's when we felt we needed them.
